Trust for Today

1 Kings 18:37

“Hear me, O LORD, hear me, so that this people will know that You, O LORD, are God…”

In today’s verse, Elijah couldn’t change people’s hearts or bring about a miracle through his own strength. So he turned to God.

Have you ever gone to bed with a problem on your mind and awakened the next morning to find that it is still waiting for you? Sometimes life brings burdens we cannot fix, questions we cannot answer, and circumstances we cannot control. If we’re not careful, our worries can steal the joy from the very life we’re trying so hard to manage.

Of course, God never asked us to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Our responsibility is to do what we can, pray for wisdom, and trust Him with what we cannot do.

So take a deep breath. Enjoy today’s blessings, and don’t let tomorrow’s uncertainties rob you of today’s peace. Your problems may be bigger than you are, but they are not bigger than God.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen my faith, quiet my worries, and help me enjoy today while trusting You with tomorrow.

I’m Lonnie Davis, and this is a thought worth thinking.
