Plant a Tree

Ezekiel 17:23
“I will plant it on the mountain heights of Israel, so that it will bear branches and produce fruit and become a majestic cedar.”

God spoke of taking a tiny sprig and growing it into a mighty tree that would someday provide shelter for others.

I’ve often wondered how many little things we do become blessings to others without our ever knowing it.

A kind word spoken at just the right moment. A phone call to someone feeling lonely. A few minutes spent listening to a troubled friend. We may forget these moments, but the people we touch may remember them for years.

There’s something beautiful about planting a tree whose shade we may never enjoy, knowing someone else someday will.

Perhaps we should think of every little kindness as planting a tree. We don’t have to see the results to know that what we’ve done matters.

Do something good today, even if it seems small. You never know how tall that little tree may grow.

Prayer: Lord, help me plant little seeds of kindness that can grow into blessings for someone.

I’m Lonnie Davis, and this is a thought worth thinking.
