Never Alone

Revelation 1:17

“When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. But He placed His right hand on me and said, ‘Do not be afraid.’”

John had walked with Jesus, but when he saw Jesus in all His heavenly glory, he fell at His feet, overwhelmed with fear.

I love what happened next. Jesus reached down, gently placed His hand on John, and said, “Do not be afraid.”

What a beautiful picture of our Savior!

Sometimes life frightens us. We worry about our health, the people we love, or what tomorrow might bring. Sometimes we wish God would explain everything and tell us how things will turn out.

But what we need most isn’t an answer. It’s the comfort of knowing we aren’t alone.

Jesus didn’t explain everything to John. He simply touched him and reminded him not to be afraid.

And sometimes, that’s enough. We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we can rest in the arms of the One who does.

Prayer: Lord, when tomorrow frightens me, help me remember Your love and find peace in You.

I’m Lonnie Davis, and this is a thought worth thinking.
