I Used To…

Revelation 2:5

“Therefore, keep in mind how far you have fallen. Repent and perform the deeds you did at first.”

Sometimes the saddest thing we lose is not something we can hold in our hands. It’s something we once had in our hearts.

Maybe you remember a time when you prayed more often, forgave more easily, or loved others more freely.  Then, Life Happened, and somewhere along the way, something slipped away.

That’s what happened to the church at Ephesus. They were still doing many good things, but they had lost the love and zeal they once had.

What touches me is how Jesus responded. He didn’t just remind them of what they had lost. He showed them how to find their way back.

Maybe that’s the message some of us need today.

Don’t just regret what you’ve allowed to slip away. You can begin again with a prayer, a kind word, an apology, or a simple act of love.

Yesterday may hold some regrets, but today still holds possibilities.

Prayer: Father, help me return to what matters most and love You more deeply each day.

I’m Lonnie Davis, and this is a thought worth thinking…
