Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Hope has a source, and it isn’t you. It isn’t your circumstances either! It’s God Himself. He is called “The God of Hope.” That matters because many of us try to manufacture hope out of good news, and good news runs out.
Cynicism looks at a closed door and expects it to stay closed. Faith looks at the same door and keeps watching for God to move. That’s not naivety. That’s trust aimed in the right direction. And notice the phrase “overflow with hope.” God never intended you to scrape by on just enough hope to survive the week. He wants your cup full and spilling onto the people around you.
