Ruth 2:2-3
“So Ruth said to Naomi, ‘Please let me go to the field and glean heads of grain.’… ‘Go ahead, my daughter,’ Naomi replied. So she departed and went out into the field and gleaned grain behind the harvesters. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz.”
What a remarkable phrase, “She happened to come to the field of Boaz.” From Ruth’s point of view, it looked like chance. From God’s point of view, it was God working in the background.
Often something we see as a coincidence was really the quiet hand of God. Maybe it’s a conversation, a new friendship, an unexpected opportunity, or a delay that changed everything. Only when looking back, do we realize God had been arranging the details all along.
Ruth was not searching for Boaz. She was simply gathering grain to survive. Yet God was guiding her ordinary steps toward an extraordinary future. That is often how He works in our lives. While we faithfully do today’s simple tasks, He is already preparing tomorrow’s blessings.
Trust God, even when life seems ordinary. In the field you walk today, God may have already sent a Boaz.
