1 Samuel 17:40
“Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag. With his sling in his hand, he approached the Philistine.”
When David faced Goliath, he did not do the best possible. A tank would have been better. Even a hunting rifle would have been better.
You may say, “But those weapons had not been invented.”
You are right! David chose the sling because it was the best he knew!
God does not call you to do the best. He calls you to do your best.
Waiting for the best possible would have left Goliath standing and Israel trembling.
So, like David, do your best and leave the rest to God.
That is all God asks of you.
Prayer: Lord, help me do my best and leave the rest to you.
