Mark 9:24
“Immediately the boy’s father cried out, ‘I do believe; help my unbelief!'”
I love the honesty of this father. He did not pretend to have perfect faith. He had enough faith to come to Jesus, but he was honest enough to admit that part of him was still struggling.
I know that feeling.
There are days when I trust God with all my heart, but then one little doubt slips in. I believe His promises, but I still wonder how things are going to turn out. Maybe you have felt that, too.
What encourages me is that Jesus did not shame this man for his imperfect faith. He helped him.
Sometimes the best prayer we can pray is not, “Lord, I have no doubts.” It is, “Lord, I believe You, but I need Your help with the part of me that is still afraid.”
God can work with honest faith.
Prayer: Lord, strengthen my faith, quiet my fears, and help me trust You with everything today.
I’m Lonnie Davis, and this is a thought worth thinking.
