Daniel 6:4
“But they could find no charge or corruption, because he was trustworthy and no negligence or corruption was found in him.”
Picture the scene. Daniel’s rivals examine every detail of his life, hunting for one crooked act! They examined his work, his decisions, and the way he lived. But they found nothing.
Most of us will never face such an examination. But every day, we make little decisions that reveal who we really are. We tell the truth when lying would be easier. We give an honest answer when a half-truth would have sufficed. We finish the job when no one is looking.
A good life isn’t built on a few great accomplishments. It is built on countless little acts of faithfulness.
Isn’t that one of life’s quietest blessings? To lay our heads down at night knowing we have done what is right, even when no one was watching.
Prayer: Lord, help me find happiness in doing right, even in the smallest things each day.
