Psalm 34:1
“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.”
There is a difference between praising God when life is easy and praising Him when life is not. David wrote these words after fleeing for his life, pretending to be insane before a hostile king just to survive. He was not sitting in comfort when he penned “at all times.” He was in the middle of fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty. And still he chose to bless the Lord.
That word “always” is worth remembering. It does not say “when things go well” or “when I feel like it.” It says at all times. This means praise and thankfulness are not meant to be a response reserved for answered prayers and good news. It is meant to be the way we always are!
Let your gratitude be a way of life with you. Bless the Lord at all times.
