Acts 16:25
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.”
Paul and Silas were beaten, bleeding, and locked in stocks. Yet at midnight, in the darkest hour, they were praying and singing hymns to God. Not because rescue was coming. They didn’t know that yet. They sang because that’s who they were, even in chains.
It’s like a smoke detector going off in a quiet house. Everyone wakes up. The other prisoners had never heard anything like it. Two men who should have been groaning were singing, and it stopped the whole prison cold.
Notice the order. The earthquake didn’t create their faith. It revealed it. The praise came first.
What does your midnight sound like? Someone nearby may be listening more closely than you think.
Prayer: Lord, when my midnight comes, let my voice still praise You.
