Psalm 18:32
“It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way clear.”
A little girl was crying. Three-year-old Emma didn’t know her, but she instinctively knew exactly what she needed. She walked right up to the upset child and said simply, “It’s going to be okay. You can do hard things.” Then she went back to her own business.
She had a profound lesson for us all. We prefer when life is easy, but it often throws heavy burdens our way. When it does, we need Emma’s wisdom: “You can do hard things.”
Hardships have a way of making us feel weak, uncertain, and afraid. We wonder if we have the ability to keep pushing forward. Reading today’s verse reminds us that real courage doesn’t originate with us. It begins with God. As the Psalmist declares, it is God “who arms me with strength.”
God doesn’t always remove the battles from our lives. Sometimes He equips us to face them. He provides the strength we need for every difficult step.
You can do hard things, because God gives you the strength to do them.
