Matthew 27:42
“He saved others, but He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.”
The crowd’s words beneath the Cross almost sound reasonable. “Come down, and we will believe.” But look at what they had already seen. He had calmed storms, cast out demons, healed the sick, walked on water, raised the dead.
How many signs does a closed heart need?
The problem was not lack of evidence. It was that they refused to see. They were not blind because no light had shined. They were blind because they kept their eyes shut.
A hard heart can stand beneath the cross and demand another sign.
Even today we whisper, “Lord, if You love me, show me.” Have we noticed what He has already given? His Word, His Son, His cross, mercy we did not deserve, and hope we could never earn.
Keep your eyes open. God is working for you in ways you have not yet seen.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for staying on the cross for my sake.
