Numbers 13:30
“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should certainly go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly conquer it.'”
Caleb never pretended the giants weren’t there. Ten spies looked at the same fortified cities and the same towering enemies Caleb saw. Yet Caleb said, “We can certainly conquer it.”
The difference wasn’t what they saw. It was whom they trusted.
Decades later, an older Caleb still spoke plainly about the danger. He never minimized the danger. He simply refused to let it have the final word.
That is still the kind of faith we need. If we get a hard diagnosis, a lost job, a painful conversation: faith doesn’t pretend these things are small. It simply believes that God is bigger than the problem.
Caleb saw the giant, but he saw God too.
Faith doesn’t deny the size of the giant. It just refuses to let the giant have the last word.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust Your promise more than my fear.
