Exodus 33:14–15
God told Moses, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Moses answered, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here.”
Israel had just worshiped a golden calf while Moses was still up the mountain. After this, you’d think God might pull back a little. Instead, He offered Moses something even better: He offered His own presence.
Moses had every reason to just say thank you and move on. He had the promise. He had a plan. Instead, he risked everything over one condition. He didn’t ask for better circumstances or an easier road. He didn’t even ask for the Promised Land. He just asked for God to go with him.
Moses understood that reaching the Promised Land without God isn’t success.
Before you chase your next big goal, pause and ask a simple question: Is God part of this? After all, the wilderness with God beats the Promised Land without Him.
Prayer: Lord, go with me. I would rather stay here than go anywhere without You.
