2 Timothy 1:5
“I am reminded of the sincere faith in you, that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I am convinced is now in you as well.”
This verse has three generations of faithful people.
Paul opens with a memory, tracing Timothy’s faith back to his grandmother Lois and mother Eunice. Lois and Eunice were not apostles. They likely never stood before a crowd or wrote a letter that survived two thousand years. But they raised a boy who would become one of the most trusted voices in the early church. Their faith was not loud. It was sincere.
That is how Godly example works. It happens quietly, at kitchen tables and bedsides. It is seen in the patience shown when no one is applauding. Paul is not just hopeful, he is convinced that Timothy’s faith is real.
Someone is watching how you carry your faith. One day, they may say that faith first lived in you.
Prayer: Lord, let my faith be sincere enough that those who come after me are convinced that it is real.
