1 Corinthians 13:7
“Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
A woman once told me about her husband, “He loves me. He just doesn’t know how to show it.” I understand the impulse, but that is nonsense. Love that cannot show itself is not love at all.
Notice the word Paul repeats. “ALWAYS”. Not sometimes. Not when it is convenient. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love is a matter of action. It is not just a feeling. Whatever we might tell ourselves.
By the way, this is how God loves you. He does not have a hidden sentiment, His is a love that showed up, in a manger, on a cross, in mercies new every morning.
So do not hide behind feelings. If you love someone, let them see it.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to love through action, not feeling. Help me protect, trust, hope, and persevere faithfully today.
